Canoeing
People up and down the country enjoy canoeing down rivers and will continue to do so for some time, most notable because it is very fun. In a day and age where we are transported regularly by technology, be it in a car or of course on a motorboat, these simpler pass times are a welcome alternative. But what is canoeing? A canoe is a narrow boat that is usually powered by human hands. It can be distinguished from a kayak because the latter tends to have a covered deck and the rider will sit with their feet outstretched in front of them. A canoeist kneels or sits on a seat. Usually the paddles differ between the two as well.
Canoeing is usually undertaken as a form of recreation, as a form of transportation or in some sports. In the last of these uses, sports, both kayaks and canoes can have a closed deck, which brings the two boats to very similar grounds. However, in early days paddlers often knelt on the bottom of the boat instead of using seats or saddles used in whitewater canoeing and recreation.
